Works nicely, as you can see in the 2nd image the cutout for the cover for the charging electronics is not as precise as I wish it would be.

However, it is still a well executed project. 
I would be tempted to run the power connection through the suspension wiring!

… and then this thought occurred to me …
Make the base large enough to hold one of those portable batteries! Then you would only need a wall-wart to recharge the battery occasionally!
