Unless the design changed the Z plus has a stepper motor with an integral lead screw. You will need a stepper motor from a belt drive Z axis.
Yes, thank you! After you posted this I discovered that indeed the HDZ will come with a new Z motor, on page 39 of the installation instructions. (FYI I haven’t actually received the package yet).
So, the Z-Plus will include a motor in this sale! Sweet!

Below is a reply from @LWSIV, who helpfully acknowledged that I won’t need to exclude any parts from the Z-Plus assembly. I had previously thought that I would need to transplant the Z-axis motor, but I won’t need to do that.
I am temporarily withdrawing the availability of the Z-Plus while I work out some manufacturing problems with the HDZ I received. Sorry!
