Frozen X Axis - Advice Needed

Fired up the machine this morning and found I had a couple of issues.

There was a metal on metal sound (never good) when the machine started to initialize.

The initial homing failed, the machine got it on the second try - but the x axis is totally frozen.

I can job it slightly at .025 mm and can see some movement, but it hits a point where it can not go past.

When I power the machine down, I can manually move all the axis, except for the the x.

The machine was working on Friday night, not sure what could have caused the problem.

I’ve attached a video showing the issue in more detail (linked in a google drive here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1M57ny2K98eirOhmyq_s6IYO3NME_tKn9?usp=drive_link)

Any ideas?

I have a project due today, really need to get this up and running.

Solved it.

Keeping here in case anyone has the same issue.

Solution:

I disassembled the Z gantry to get at the X axis housing.

I found that there was debris underneath the Z axis housing, along the X axis.

Totally frozen, I hit it with some WD-40 and let it sit.

I ended up using a small rubber mallet to tap the sliders away from the debris, hit it with more WD and let it sit.

Cleaned the assembly, put everything back together.

It’s working now.

I love it when a plan comes together.
