Need some help. It’s been a few months since I used Fusion 360, so not sure if something has changed. When I select a tool operation and go to Post Process, it won’t allow me to save the file as a “NC file”, i.e. it doesn’t show the file ext when trying to safe. Nothing has changed on my end, have done it hundred of times before. Is there something new that has changed in F360 or is it that it only works with the “paid version” now ?
Also using the free version of Fusion 360. I think that it doesn’t automatically add the .nc when saving (maybe a recent change?) but you can just type it at the end. The file with and without an extension seem to function exactly the same.
Thanks for reaching out guys. Greenleaf, you are on to something:) Not sure why it has changed, but you are right, when it you try to save the file, it doesn’t add the .nc extension:( You have to add it after you save it. When you simulate the file, all seems good. Another extra step, I guess we shouldn’t complain as its “free”
That’s weird. Maybe it’s a Mac thing?
How exactly are you getting to the post process window? Are you clicking the post process button in the tool ribbon?
i have never had the extension created on a mac. Older versions of CM would allow me to select it without an extension. The new version does not so i have to make sure i add it when saving
Yeah, it used to on a mac. I switched to windows for fusion 360 when they stopped supporting High Sierra but still force the update. When I can afford solidworks or equivalent I will be dropping fusion for that reason alone (forced updates).
On the other hand, this is an easily solvable issue, you already have to name the file, just add the “.nc”…
@neilferreri I’ll take your word for it as I no longer have the mac version and can’t check. I just don’t see it in the mac pics posted above, and that layout looks quite different from what I remember seeing a year ago on a mac…
Iwonder if this is related to Create not generating file extensions on Macs. When you post process, does the file have a name? Or is the entire filename area blank?
