Getting the Pro Setup

Hey, I know this is an older thread but I love the idea for how to surface the entire area.

I am new so sorry if this is a dumb question but I am wondering why you make the area outside of the cutting area lower? Why not just shuffle the board and keep running the same surfacing program until they are all the same?

To make future surfacing easier. By doing that I don’t have to shuffle every time.

Okay thank you! Definitely makes sense. When jogging manually while cutting do you just leave the machine to “fast” for jogging?

Yep. But for future surfacing I’ll make a program.

I have 3 surfacing programs named with 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 in the file name that take off that much below Z0. It’s nice as I can put some stock in, set Z to the top, and run it, and then just stop it when the stock is flat (I try to mount it near-ish the center of the bed). Very handy.

Or I can run it on my whole board if I want by setting the Z top to the spoilboard.
