Looks great! This is something I’d like to do as well, and I’m wondering what your wood source was. In asking around, it seems like most of the lumber yard folks are recommending redwood or cedar planks usually used for fencing, but I’d like to hear from someone who has made one successfully.
Yes. Using fence or deck boards will work. You’d just need to able to join them together to make a larger plank. My biggest piece was 11-1/2” wide.
I used rough lumber from a local person with a sawmill. So I had to make all of my blanks before any Cnc was done. I used cedar for outside durability and light weight.
