Grease on Z axis

It had been a few weeks since I ran my shapeoko, as I’ve been busy with other stuff. A few jobs were starting to pile up so I went down to run it.

As I was tightening my clamps i noises what appeared to be blood on my hand. After a quick second of panic, I realize the two vertical channels on my Z axis were oily.

Is this normal? Not sure if it’s always been that way and I hadn’t noticed before.

Thanks for the info. So if I’m reading it correctly, the exterior shouldn’t have any oil on it and I should be wiping it down?
