gSender and Carbide's VFD

I recently purchased Carbide’s 65mm spindle/VFD kit and am preparing to install it. In reading through the installation manual, there are references to changes necessary to be made in Carbide Motion. I use gSender, and would like to continue to do so. Has anyone done this? I suppose I could go back to Carbide Motion, but before I do, I thought I’d ask here.

Thanks in advance!

I use Gsender & it works fine with the spindle commands.

I think the changes in CM are how to interpret the spindle command. With a VFD it just sends the M03S18000 command. Without a VFD it will prompt you to turn on the spindle.

Great! I see in gSender a firmware setting for max spindle speed. Can you tell me what that number is in your gSender?

I have the HDM with 2.2kw spindle, so it’s 24000

And is the minimum 8000?

Is the rpm range not written right on the spindle body?

Gee, I never thought of that. I’ll take a look tomorrow. I did figure it out by some trial and error and it turns out that the minimum speed is 1000 and max is 24000. With those numbers plugged into the firmware, the drive front panel actual RPM agrees (well, it’s close) with the setpoint I send to the drive.
