Guitar build file help

Anyone have any files they’d be willing to part with that are ready to go? I’m really wanting to build a telecaster, but I am having difficulty with programming.

Here is a search:

and a couple of my responses in those threads include the information from the now off-line Shapeoko wiki.

Do you have a set of files/plans? Where were they sourced from? What difficulty are you having?

I have built 3 guitars so far. The CNC machine was great for cutting out the internal cavities. I also used the CNC for cutting out the outer outline of the guitar although I could have done it faster on my bandsaw. CNC files for those things are readily available.

I honestly didn’t find it useful for the final shaping of the guitar. I ended up shaping much more complex curves and shapes with my spindle sander (and router on the edges), especially the back side so that it would contour well with my body. It would require a pretty sophisticated software program to design the complex 3D shapes that I ended up carving on my guitars. It would also take a long time to cut out those 3D shapes on the front and back of the guitar on a CNC machine. It only took me about 1 hour to shape it on my spindle sander. Every tool has its strengths and weaknesses. For me, I used the CNC machine for what it was best at.

I’m having difficulty with the neck. I have an STL file, but the two-sided aspect is is making things difficult as well as getting scale right.

Send the STL file in to support@carbide3d.com along with your notes on how you envision doing the flip and we can walk through that with you either via e-mail, or here.
