Hello everyone, so just started having this issue and not sure if it is a hardware issue or software issue. I’ve cut this file before same file, same tool path but now I am getting these pesky circles.
Almost certainly hardware. What machine /spindle do you have? If it’s an ER system, have you checked that the collet is properly seated?

Shapeoko 5 pro and using the router that came with it. I will take a look at the collet. I have debated getting the spindle upgrade but haven’t looked too much into it.
Is the bit old? Have you tried another bit

I was using 60° fairly new sharp tip still, not flat. Software carbide create 7. I’ve cut the same file and same settings before no issues.
Possibilities are:
- worn tooling
- worn collet
- tool came loose
- machine needs lubrication

I mention that last only to cover all bases — doesn’t seem likely to me.
