HDM Waste Board

Has anyone made slats for an HDM waste board? If so, does anyone have the specs for the 6mm holes in the slats?

Thanks

Isn’t HDM a bit expensive for a waste board?

Not sure what you mean? I wanted a 110V Spindle & my only option was the HDM. I’m concerned if I don’t have a waste board and I cut through material, I will damage the aluminum bed?

I’m just being old school, where I’m sensitive to spending too much.

Got it. Thanks for the reply

I think Tex was making a funny. ā€œHDMā€ is a premium grade of MDF specifically for machining

I didn’t know that! Thanks!

Well, not so funny, now.

It’s not funny if you need to explain it… :upside_down_face:

What software was used to produce that drawing?

Step file says, ā€œ/* originating_system */ ā€˜Autodesk Translation Framework v10.10.0.1391’,ā€
AutoCad?

Yeh but… spell correct fixes it to HDMI

If you think of spell correct as the progenitor of AI it all becomes clear…

How much are new slats from
Carbide 3D?

You’d have to ask them. I don’t see them in the shop. You can get a Nomad wasteboard for $30.
Perhaps they would sell you slats, but I imagine they’d be much cheaper, and quicker, to make yourself.

Carbide 3D does not sell the slats — they’re just too heavy and cheap to be sold at a reasonable price — pull a good slat and use it as a template to make a new one.

I went to the local Re store and bought a 20.00 desk. Took the desktop to cut slats for my machine. The rest went to test cuts.
