Does the Carbide 3D Touch Probe work with the HDZ out of the box or are there modifications that need to be made
It does work. I just finished installing my HDZ about an hour ago, and ran a test cut. I used the Touch Probe and it worked as it did with the stock Z.

As @ispot says, they play together well, just make sure you have CM 4.17
