Hello- I set up my shapeoko pro xl, and set up my first project. I loaded everything in, used bit setter and bit zero. When i went to cut I.m just cutting air above the stock.
Where are you zeroing your Z and where is your file say you are starting the cut?

Before I run my project I set zero using bit zero left corner. It probes left, right and on top. I thought that was all you needed to do

The other consideration is where the origin is set in the file — if you have it at the bottom of the stock in the file, but set it relative to the top using BitZero, then you will get an air cut as you describe.
