Holding work pieces larger than Z Axis Range

Hi
I have a small wood shop in the UK - but I am completely new to CNC.
About to make a purchase, but I have one questions which is not 100% clear after a lot of searching around.
How do you hold work that needs engraving on one edge but the piece is larger than Z axis will travel?
I have uploaded a couple of examples (not our work - but we have similar requirements (different product line)) - I assume this are done on CNC - but the how it is done (holding) puzzles me.
Any help would be appreciated and apologies in advance if this has been answered before (I couldn’t find anything) or is just a dumb question.

If you have an SO5 Pro, implement the “Gantry Shift” option:

then work up some suitable solution for clamping at the front of the machine — this was easy on the SO3 (just use the front endplate), folks have worked up various options for the more recent machines.

Great thanks @WillAdams - I will read through that post - thanks for the help

This is something I’m still experimenting with on my SO5 Pro — I was thinking about bolting a piece of 48" extrusion to the front of my workbench and using that.

Curious what other folks are doing/using/considering.

Interesting @MG6Makes - I came across something I think was similar to that on a Youtube Video, but the camera was a way away from the machine it was hard to look at the setup in detail.

Never tried, but I think the router can be driven outside the holding area to the “south”, kind of overhang. I don’t know how far. Was discussed here:
