Hi all. First post, thought I’d help out some folks who may need a shop upgrade. Right now Home Depot has 52" x 25" toolchest on sale for $398, usually over $600. I picked two up yesterday (arriving today) and plan to use them as my new cnc base for my 5 Pro 4x4 that I am planning on setting up after finishing a shed build that I am completing. I was unable to find the item on HDs site using their search, but it is googleable and when selected, offers a $150 off coupon.
Here is a url from the site so you know what you’re looking for… (I was unable to attach a screenshot but if you paste this into your browser, it should take you to a search engine that offers the link to their website.)
I have a friend that bought a couple of these. He took the wheels off and bolted them together. It made a really nice work bench with built in drawers.
Who couldn’t use more efficient shop organization?
I wasn’t going to spend $1500+ for a cnc base but at $800 (for 2) with mobility, shop storage and power strips installed, it was more realistic, and I am excited to see what she ends up looking like.
Here’s a look at how it turned out. Moves freely, though the two center wheels can hit at the beginning of movement if I’m not careful. Which causes me to have to manually reposition them. If you’re careful, non issue though.
