I bought a used Shapeoko 3xl. In trying to get things going, the machine cannot find the limit switches. Putting the collett wrench under the switch, the red light comes on. In the control box there is one red light that is lit, one blue light, and one amber light. What is wrong? How do
I get the machine to acknowledge the limit switches? I keep getting an error message saying the homing routine failed. The limit switches will light up when placing something metal on the sensor. Blue LEDs light up in the control box as well. What do I do? How do I fix it?
Could the motor pulley/gear have jumped a couple of cogs on the belt so that the gantry doesn’t move close enough to the framework to trip the limit switches for the homing rou
tine?
Since you verified the switches work now adjust them so they trigger.
Turn your Shapeoko off and move gantry to right rear corner. Turn machine on and adjust switch until it triggers on controller board. Do both x and y. Depending on z do the same with belt z you can manually move z up to top with power off. With z plus and/or hdz manually turn leadscrew to get z ot top. After z is at top turn Shapeoko on and adjust switch as necessary.
Before initializing power on and connect, go to settings on cm and send config. Before sending config go to second tab and uncheck BitSetter and automatic spindle control. After initalalization you can set them up if you have them. Go back to first tab and send config. Now try initalizing.
