I’ve made my first woodchips (test coaster) and now I see why people say that you’re tempted to just sit and watch the CNC do its thing. B/c I am new, I am looking to buy some cheaper bits before getting the nice ones. I’m looking at SpeTools which has a RAR file for their library. How do I load that into CC? I added a new library and named it…but I assumed from there I could simply upload the RAR library file to populate all their tools. But I don’t see where the do that.
Go to “Help”, unfold (?) “About”, then click on the screen that pops up “Open Data Directory”
Open the folder path “Carbide Create\tools”, paste the extracted.csv file into the “tools” folder, and you can use it on the software page
I don’t see this function in CC. Do I have to manually add each tool individually? I’m on a Mac. Is there a folder I can navigate to where I move all the CSV files?
I use a few SpeTool endmills as well so I downloaded the SpeTool Excel files and dropped them in the tools subdirectory in CC but they do not show in my tools library. There was the original Excel tool file in the directory so maybe I need to add the data from the SpeTool excel files to it? I’m assuming CC can only read from one file?
Actually… I just rebooted my laptop and all the SpeTools now show in my tool library. Setup a toolpath, Edit tool, Select tool, In the machine dropdown select “All” and they are there
