How to cut out a pocket in aluminum:
The provided file has a slotting inner profile cut, which should instead be cut as a pocket so as to reduce tooling engagement — go to the Design tab:
Offset Vectors
to the inside by ~endmill diameter plus 10%
and select both the original and the inset geometry:
and cut as a pocket down to the penultimate pass.
Then edit the Contour toolpath so that it comes after the pocket, and begins at the bottom:
