It hadn’t occurred to me that there were professional monogrammers. 
Yeah, four years too late to be unambiguously in the public domain.
Lots of long-gone professions, milliners, typecasters, compositors, &c.

My first job after college (which I found in a local newspaper) was as a meter reader. That’s a dead profession now.
That makes me sound 100 years old but I’m still barely in my 30s.
