How to hoist my XXL?

Option A, Option B or some other?

I need to lift my XXL, firstly to slip in some foamboard, but also to move it to a new bench someday, and ALSO to store it up near the rafters while I use that precious 16 SqFt as an assembly table.

A, B or other? Thanks!

I would do C:

  • put boards underneath parallel to the extrusions
  • use the PEM nuts for the leveling legs to bolt the machine to the boards

Will, I knew you’d have a great idea!

Kind of a double edged sword though, I need to lift it to get to the PEM nuts. I guess I could prop each side up on a 2x4 temporarily.

So if you are going to lift it up when not working in use why not build a torsion box. You can secure Shapeoko to torsion box and lift torsion box. The torsion box will keep machine level and stable.

gdon: excellent idea!

My shop is only 12x10 so I use every square inch. This is canoe hoist for my xl size. Everything is dual purpose.
