I am having great difficulty trying to edit a vector from an svg
and
…explain to me how to remove a vector?
Naturally discrete/complete elements may be selected:
and deleted:
this works for the open vectors as well:
Deleting one or more lines/sections/portions of closed geometry (indicated by being black when unselected on the Default layer) requires that one select it:
and go into Node Edit mode:
Then right-click along a line which one wishes to remove:
and choose “Cut vector”
then drag-select the begin/end nodes instantiated by the cut:
and press d to delete:
Done
Assuming that one wishes to cut this design into the end of a board (conclusion drawn from the filename), then one approach is to offset by the diameter of the tool which one wishes to use plus 10%:
Apply
then draw in geometry which defines the region which one wishes to limit the toolpath to:
and which divides the original geometry at the appropriate point:
Done
Select everything:
and use Trim Vectors to remove what is not wanted:
OK
Use Join Vectors to close things:
Yes
at which point a Pocket toolpath may be applied which will cut this out of the end of a board given the appropriate setting of zero and use of a tool with a suitable geometry:
