HP notebook to run cnc

I have an opportunity to get a Hp notebook 2019 to run my Shapeoko 5Pro cnc. It has windows 10. I have been using a tablet up till now and would prefer a laptop. Will this work for me?

So long as it meets the system requirements:

Windows:

  • Windows 10, or 11, 64-Bit (Intel or AMD)
  • 8GB RAM
  • Screen Display: 1280 x 1024

then yes, it will work.

I am only running carbide motion on it. I use another pc to run Vectric software for the code. The HP notebook is 64 bit but has 4gb ram not 8. Will that work just to run motion?

It may work, at least for the current version, but it may have performance issues, or stop working with a future update.
