I am at my wits end

Machine is a Shapeoko4 XXL
I purchased this machine to engrave placards. I am using Rowmark LaserMax sheets. They are 24"x48" and .059" thick. My issue is that no matter how many times I mill my MDF sacrificial sheet, I cannot get an even engraving. I have a vacuum bed and the material is sucked down and doesn’t move. I have to end up setting the depth/pressure to .035 and then most letters are to deep. I should be able to just set it to.010 and just take the black top layer off and have a white reveal. Anyone else doing this or having issues?

I haven’t ran that on my router. But I have on my lasers.

From my laser experience the top layer is not as consistent as you think it is. I’ve nearly given up on it from a laser perspective.

Have you measured the consistency of the material and the layer thicknesses?

Have you trammed your machine as well?

Post a photo of the MDF sacrificial sheet after milling?

Another photo showing how the LaserMax sheet is held in place by the vacuum?

Lastly, a photo showing the current state of cutting evincing the problem and the file used for it?
