It turns out that it is just slightly out of square. I’m cutting a guitar neck and cutting lines for the strings. The neck is 15 inches long so by the time you extend out the out of square really showed up. On this project I decided to set the origin at the center rather than the lower left like I usually do. I thought by using this I would end up being square. Actually there are two things here. I have two grooves that I cut in the table for the x and y that are 1/4 inch that I usually use for alignment. I didn’t those grooves and also I assumed the little green alignment square was truely square. If you look closely at the pictures you will see that it is just a little off. I’m now doing this piece over using my old method and thought I would share before I throw the little green square away.
Why don’t you just make your own hold downs on your machine and know they are cut square? I picked up some plastic board 2’x4’ of 1/2” and 3/4” and just cut them to fit my S5Pro table.
if it’s an option to pin them to a place or two on your spoil board you’ll see that they square up. I have three places on my spoil board where I can move them to. More if needed by just adding another set of three holes.
