I bought a file on Etsy that came to me as G code. Is there a way to use this file? Maybe a converter that will change it to c2d. Or do I just need to contact the creator and ask for c2d?
Worth asking, since if you only have the gcode you can’t really make any modifications to the job.
Depending on the file/what you purchased they may not have it as a create file.
I’d also be reluctant to run gcode from some random person, but I think the project viewer in carbide motion will give you a decent idea of what the project should be doing.
That’s one of those things that you get specific on before you pay for it. I’ve bought lots of projects from Etsy sellers. Not one of them tried to sell me a gcode file. A gcode file is very machine specific.
Complain to the seller and Etsy. Get your money back.
If you will provide a link to the file in question we will gladly walk through how to design this in Carbide Create if feasible.
If it’s a full 3D thing, maybe we can prevail on one of the folks who use a “real” 3D CAD program to explain things.
