I finally got the new downloaded version 8 cc
And I’m not sure of the version, but I got the new download for Carbide motion as well at the same time.
Problem is now every time I try to set zero it goes in measures the bit instead of setting zero so I have no way to set zero properly that I know of… is there an instructional video for how to set all the home points again for the new programs?
If you set zero for Z, then the machine will re-measure the current tool — otherwise things should be the same as described at:
https://carbide3d.com/hub/courses/running-shapeoko/movements-zeroing/
which although not updated for current versions should apply.
I wrote up a bit at:
which should match the screens in the current version — if anything doesn’t, let me know and I’ll update it.
How are you setting zero? What difficulty are you having?
If you’ll let us know step-by-step:
- what you did
- what you expected
- what actually happened
we will go over this with you.
The way I used to set zero was to move the bit to where I wanted it exactly and do the little paper fillers to get the Z right and then I just zeroed it all now when I do that the machine packs up and leaves goes and checks. The vet comes back to. I’m not sure where and then I get lost from there.
After it’s done checking the length of the tool, the zero should be set.
Does jogging back to the set zero position not get one to where one expects?
Try using the Rapid Position commands to get there?
I’ll go test this thanks!!
