I have imported a stl file and assigned the toolpaths. The simulation shows the stl image cutting well but it also shows the project perimeter being cut fully out.
I would like to have a 1/4 inch perimeter around the project and can’t figure out how to do that.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
right-click on the 3D model:
trace it:

Select that and the border:
Model as an 0.25" flat thickness:
Apply
Show 3D:

An alternate approach would be to set the model to “Equal”, then draw in the flat area before hand.
