Good morning all, What image format is best to produce a smoother 3d rough and finish with Carbide Create or do I need to hand over the cash for V Carve desktop?
Here is the C2D file if you have a moment to guide me along. This preview just looks all jagged.

Carbide Create is intended to work with pixel files which have a clear, unambiguous relation between grayscale value and height/depth. It’s not really intended to work with full-colour images.
So in this case would converting the image to a black and white maybe with a halftone help?
Halftone won’t help — the problem is, you don’t want a pictorial representation — you want an algorithmic depiction.
