A few issues with the boot:
If the broom is too high you gets chips all over of course.
But when cutting 1" woods that are clamped, the outside bottom piece will hit your clamps which will hit and move them sideways, then your piece slides to ruin.
This happened enough to where I sopped using the clamps and screw everything in, allowing for margins is SOP.
And when you do have to raise and lower it in progress, you need your little hex wrench and unclip the thumb lock.
It finally cracked from wear so Id like to see a better thumb release and no little hex screws to hole that band.
