In the 3d test tab under info can you not watch the machine cut in that screen as it actually cuts the project?
@Gooch , no, it’s a rotatable, zoomable preview of the completed toolpath to give a sanity check before you press the GO button. It is not a volumetric rendering, so the toolpath progress would still just be a line following the gcode and not a representation of the actual solid being eaten away.
But the CM computer is typically plugged into a real-world machine that can be watched as it actually cuts the project. 
I do that a whole lot with my N4. I’ve been CNC’ing for over 20 years and it still never gets old!
