Initializing and homing troubles

I tried to do the whole homing process on my 4 XL. I know that homing is supposed to be going to the back right and up. I sent all the settings/config for the 4 XL in carbide motion. Unfortunately, the router is going down and driving itself into the wasteboard and its also going towards the front. On carbide motion it is saying that the Z and X input is already triggered. The blue light indicators are also lit. I’ve checked/double checked the wiring so I think that’s straight. Tech support sent me new wires for x and Z limit switches and it was the same thing. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Most of the time things run backward it is configuration issue. If support helped you maybe not. If the two y motor connections were reversed perhaps that is why it tries to come to the front.

The z going the wrong direction is picking wrong z in config. The ballscrew is hdz and leadscrew is z-plus. The s4 comes standard with z-plus. You can upgrade to hdz. Things may have changed in ordering but the hdz and z-plus run is opposite directions.

So try moving y1 and y2 positions by swaping thier positions on controller. In config change z option to opposite of what you are picking.

Connect to machine but do not initalize but go to settings and change settings and be sure to SEND. Try initialization.

What about the LED indicators on the switches?
If you unplug the switches, are the blue lights on the main board still on?

When plugged in the red lights on the switches will go on and off when they are “tripped” with a metal object. The blue lights stay on all the time. They will turn off when I unplug the wires

I’m having very similar problems. Just got my new 4XXL set up and trying to initialize for the first time. Loaded the configuration data and when I go to initialize the machine, I get a limit switch error on both X and Z which causes the initial homing to fail.

All 3 limit switches light up red when I hold metal near them. In the control box, both X and Z are constantly lit up blue unless I unplug them. I’ve thoroughly checked all the wiring and everything seems ok. I’m stuck with what to do from here to resolve this?

what did support say about this ?
Can you upload a close-up picture of the X and Z limit switch connector wiring at the controller side, for a check?

Support sent me new wires for x and z. I connected the new wires and still the same thing. I emailed to let them know but with the holiday they haven’t returned my email yet

It looks ok at this side.
That’s with the gantry far from the homing position / the Z axis not stuck at the top ?

Z axis is stuck at the bottom

Spoke with support and my wires were not lining up. Black to black blue to blue on the x and z switches….even if it seems the clips are reversed.

Do you have a pic of what you had to do. I think I’m having the same issue.
Thank you.
