Inkscape Import Crash - Carbide Create

Good afternoon all, I’m looking to see if any of you have run into a similar issue before. I created a simple SVG that an 18" circle with a 1" bar across and the text Merry Mail in the middle. I’m able to import it fine into Create, but as soon as I go to assign a tool path it crashes.

I’m able to use other SVGs that I find and download that are larger and more complex. It’s only the simple test one that I did in inkscape.

Filesize: 12KB
Designed in Inkscape and running on a MAC.

Anythoughts as to what I did wrong?

Hi Seth,

Can you upload the svg file here ? It might well be a corner case bug so it will be interesting to submit the file to support@carbide3d.com if the crash can be reproduced

Apologies for wasting your time. I cleared the fill and resaved the file and everything worked.

Even with the fill it shouldn’t crash — could you send the file with the fill which causes the crash in to us at support@carbide3d.com

Did you save it as a “Plain SVG” or an “Inkscape SVG”? Use Plain SVG. Carbide Create seems to have issues with Inkscape SVG. Specifically when wrapping text along a path.

Please send such a file in to us at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll do our best to look into it.
