I’m pretty new to this, bought my machine in November and due to UPS losing box 1 for 3 weeks and multiple motor and connection issues I only have a few projects under my belt at this point.
I looked up everything I could see on how to make an inlay and have a test project using reclaimed pallet wood end grain and a red oak 1/4" thick piece for the plug. The plug came out not fitting at all despite it not wiggling when I dry fit it. Below are pictures of what I ended up with. I made a pocket path to remove the waste using a 1/4" upcut bit and it pulled out the plug in multiple places. My guess is I should have used a downcut bit?
Any help would be fantastic!
