Inlay plug is a little loose?

So I have done several inlays without issues, but today when i cut a plug for a pocket I made the other day it fits loosely in the pocket. The plug and pocket are in two separate files, but the plug file is just a the same file as the pocket saved with a new name and setup for just the plug. Meaning that the plug and pocket use the exact same artwork/design. The toolpaths are also setup the same.

The logo plug has about 1mm of play/wiggle when I put it into the pocket. I check both the pocket and plug with my calipers and everything measures out correctly. Any thoughts on what might have happened here? If it matters, the attached Text plug fit perfectly.

I had the exact same problem with an inlay I made yesterday, hopefully someone can explain :pensive:

I’ve been gone on vacation and have not had a chance to looking into this anymore. Did you by chance figure anything out?

Post photos showing in what way the inlay is loose?

Which toolpath is enabled to cut the recess for the inlay?

How is the 7/16" bowl bit defined? Is the geometry of it suited to cutting a 13mm deep pocket?

The preview seems okay:

Last night I tried cutting two new plugs from some hard maple. One of the plugs was with the same exact file I cut the Yellowheart from and the other was a copy and past of the design from the main pocket file. Both file cut an identical plug and both plugs seemed as loose fitting as the Yellowheart plug. So, I just went full send and glued in the Yellowheart plug.

It came out just fine with no noticeable gap in the inlay. I’m not sure why these plugs felt like they had more play then other plugs I’ve made for past projects.
