when installing bit runner, do I need to run the ground wire through the drag chains along with the router power cord?
In the past it is not recommended to run the power cord through the drag chains. The electrical signal sine wave can cause interference with the other cables. Be sure to read in the install guide about the router power cord routing. On my Shapeoko 3 I ran the power cord along the outside of the drag chain. Things may have changed but since it is a pain to remove the links in the drag chain be sure before you run your power cord. The ground wire would not hurt but the frame is grounded. The Makita/C3D routers only have 2 wire power cords so they are not technically grounded. Since the frame is grounded it may not be necessary to ground the router. However it would not be a bad idea for static control with dust collection.
Good luck with that mine wasn’t long enough. even after getting it all hooked up it didn’t work.Ive been working with support to get it fixed. No luck yet but i am confident they will figure it out.Support has been great.
