Ages ago, when I was young, plastic items with a wood grain appearance and similar colour variations were quite common — I’d always wondered about the specifics of how they were made and why they went away — at a guess, the need to stop/re-start the process to restore this appearance was part of it.
That said, I’d love a set of Systainers made thus…
