Well right now only two of them are running. In the process of building a house/moving. So one is in a shipping container that will be a workshop, a ten hour drive away.
So I only had one running and planned on getting another when the move was completed. But got busy so I thought why not.
I make mostly awards and going away gifts. Mostly military stuff and mostly 3D carves. Some flat stuff too. Usually combine that with the laser.
Hey there - my name is Schuyler (pronounced Skyler). Apologies in advance for the long post, but thought this may be a fun opportunity to introduce myself and show some past work.
Finally bought a CNC Router this year for my garage shop after wanting one for a long time.
My background is industrial design and I’m the co-founder of a design studio in Denver, CO. Some of my work can be found here.
My first introduction to CNC routing was in a college course where we had to design something using a 24x24x.75" sheet of material. I tried for a chair… and failed so many times. Ended up with a stool. I had access to a 4’x4’ shopbot at the time and our lab tech set up the cut files for us… luxury.
Then I worked with a colleague on a parametric bench - luckily I just had to do the CAD and file setup on this one. The gal in the photo did the sanding & assembly.
The studio I worked at out of school had a shaper origin - so most projects I utilized that for our prototypes. We built desks, clocks, bikes, etc.
Then I bought one for myself since I didn’t have a ton of space in the old garage and made a few things:
I now have space in the new garage for a machine so I bought a Shapeoko 4 standard size. I got tired of pushing my shaper origin around, especially on small parts. I also craved 3D profile cutting and repeatability.
These are the first three projects so far!
I’ve used it already on some client projects too… but can’t show those projects for NDA reasons.
A project I’m working up to is making a wooden gridfinity toolbox. I designed a 3D printed one that got some traction on Makerworld… but I really want to make it out of baltic birch.
Lastly - I designed a 3D printed wheelchair for toddlers. People have been trying to ship those around the world. The CNC routed flat pack version has much more potential for easy shipping, so now I can really crank out prototypes.

I haven’t seen a Catan board done that way. Got my mind going on what’d I’d change and how I’ll steal.
Ah!! I didn’t pick up that it was a Catan board until you said that. I just looked at it as a gorgeous table. But I see it now and it’s even more amazing!
