IPhone 13 + Max Phone Stand (or any Large Phone)

For those of you doing laser engraving.
You could do this is Carbide Create also.
But dont know if you could get the detail of the design there.
Phone Stand Made with 1/4 (6mm) Baltic Birch Plywood.

A Vee carve bit should be able to engrave that kind of detail. Maybe choose a 15° bit.

Fine lines of text or drawings require a 15-20 degree vee bit. A 90/60 degree may not hardly scratch the surface on small fine lines.

Simple vcarve should always use bottom of material. If you limit depth in a simple vcarve you get strange results. A simple vcarve goes down the middle of the lines until it touches both sides of the lines. However on very thin material you can cut through the bottom. Always check the simulation to see if you are going to cut through.

If you need to limit depth use advanced vcarve. You can limit depth. Even if you choose a flat end mill to cut the flat areas CC/CM may ignore that tool if the lines are too small for the chosen tool. If the flat end mill is ignored the vee bit will do all the carving.

If your using Baltic Birch Plywood I’m not sure how well it will engrave/cut.
I haven’t had much luck getting a clean cut on plywood.
But since I’m doing this project with a laser its not an issue.
The beam on my Atomstack X40 Pro laser is something like 0.1 mm
That smaller that most CNC bits. Even a 1/32 CNC bit would be 0.793 mm.
But as you mentioned a 15-20 degree Vee bit may work.
Maybe a PCB bit.

Are you using the laser for the cut out as well? If so, try a compression bit. I have had really good luck with plywood with those.

Yes, i am engraving and also cutting with the laser.
