My controller box fan runs almost all the time even when my machine is off. Is this normal?
It runs when there is power to it (from the cord) and the switch on the unit itself is on, and the temperature inside is high enough to activate the fan.
To power it down completely, including the fan, turn off the switch on the box (not just the E-stop switch) or unplug it.
Ok thanks I just wanted to make sure it’s normal.
Simple, handy, quick way
These are also extremely handy on the end of extension cords or on power bars. Isolating power.
You can also hide them by mounting them with only the switch visible. Maybe a cnc project in the making.

I unplug mine when I’m not going to use the CNC for a bit. Just remember to switch it back on before you run your next job…don’t ask me how I know this.
