Yes that is normal. It is what it is supposed to do.

My Shapeoko XXL makes similar noises. I had the volume up rather high and have a 5.1 Surround on the system so it did sound loud. It is rather hard to make a comparison because of your microphone location and the ability to calibrate the volume to your machine and my setup. But overall I think it is normal.
