I’m new so please bear with me. While setting up my first project I attempted to download a picture of a cat. It didn’t load but now I stuck in the outline editor and cannot get out of it to attempt to reload. What do I do?
Is this while using CC ? If so, kill the app. Task manager in Windows, IDK in Apple world.
Alright, thanks. I’ll try that.
I tried finding it in task manager. Couldn’t find it. I there a way to completely delete the partially completed project so I can start over?
The project is a file. Can you save the file ?
Note the folder it wants to go to. You can change the folder to whatever you want.
I do this: Create a Projects folder. Create the project folder under that.
C:\Projects\myNewStuff
Start a New File and go again. Only way to learn.
Alright, I tried that. Got my folder and then tried to open a new file. My computer does not recognize my file name. So, I tried to continue with the project. Opened a new file and did all the primliminaries. Now, when I try to select a Background Image I’m taken to my computer file folder or usage folder. I do not understand. Please help if you can.
The folder the Background image started in was because you must have open/saved a file project file to the Projects folder.
The My Computer is just another folder.
You will need to go to the folder the image file is in.
A screenshot of what you are seeing would be helpful.
I created a file as you suggested. I just can’t get Background Tool to open so I can download the Cat. I keep opening the File Explorer when I click Download. I have tried again to completely deleted Carbide v7 and reloaded Carbide 8 Beta. The v7 program is still loaded.
I think you need to go to your Project folder instead of Download if that is where you put the Cat image.
I am thinking that you are not very computer savvy. These are basic folder/file actions.
Maybe find someone to help you or take a class

The compleat set of operations is:
Click on “Set Background”
Click on “Load Image”
which will bring up a standard computer “Open File” dialog
Navigate to where the file which you wish to load is located:
Select the file:
click “Open”
Adjust the settings as desired.
I have delete the CC app several times. When I reload it and try to start over it take back to where I left off. The CC app has not been completely removed and I cannot figure out how to do so.
I doubt that removing/reinstalling is changing much.
Please review the basic operations of selecting and loading a file in your operating system and let us know step-by-step:
- what you did
- what you expected
- what actually happened
and upload screen grabs or photos showing what you are seeing at each step.
Bug splat is a crash reporting mechanism which we use in our Windows systems.
Just in case you don’t know how, here’s a link on how to take a screenshot.
