How do I jog my machine? The option was there when I first installed Carbide Motion. I am still learning how to use my machine. I’ve had it over a month and have yet to make anything. Getting pretty discouraged at this point. Any help would be great.
Hi @Rodrdeleon
Have you seen the https://my.carbide3d.com/ site ? It has a bunch of tutorial/getting started videos, there’s one for jogging and zeroing: https://my.carbide3d.com/gswso/06/
In Carbide Motion, once you have loaded a file, you can go to the Jog Tab. Once there you can jog. The rapid jog tab will move the machine rapidly to the position you click.
Hope this helps
The jog option is not showing on the screen. It did when I first tried it, but wasn’t there today.
And thanks for helping me
Hey, I think I remember this happening to me. I will check when I get home, but I think the issue is with the bit setter option. I remember being frustrated because I selected the bit setter option but then it wouldn’t let me jog to the bit setter location as per the instructions. When I reread the instructions I realized that it said to set the setting without the bit setter option first. That then enabled the jog screen (if you have the bitsetter option selected all you can do is initialize - no jog options).
So order of operations - set settings in carbide motion and do not initialize bitsetter. Then jog machine - as per the instructions - so that the bit is over the bitsetter and aprox 25mm above the button. Then open settings back up and select bit setter, this will also give you the option to select current position as the location of the bitsetter. Then when you upload, the first screen will change to include the yellow initialize button, which will now work!
Hope that helps, sorry if it doesn’t.
Good luck!
Sorry but I don’t have the “jog” option on my screen. Not sure what I am doing wrong and I have not seen any links to help. All videos show how to Jog, not how to find it.
Hi Rodrigo,
When you go the “Run” section, what do you see ?
Did you successfully “Initialize Machine”? The Jog menu will only appear after the machine has been initialized
Thank you so much. What happened was I almost broke it the first time I tried it (user error) and thought I was doing it wrong again. Was able to get my first cut tonight thanks to y’all’s help.
