I know that they are working on a laser attachment for the Shapeoko machine. Anyone know how much longer before it is available? I have talked to sales. They have not been able to give me a time frame. I would love to add one, but have tried to wait until there is one that is not going to void my warranty or have other issues.

I must have missed the memo about them working on a laser attachment… Great news for us for sure!
You probably don’t want any proprietary laser grbl from them when lightburn exists, if it’s support for lightburn they would add then it would have value. It’s too intuitive of a program and they even use the same forums template.
I am hopeful that whatever they are coming up with will be beneficial without having the expense of a whole new platform or product.
Most of the problem is there isn’t alot of profit in laser, to find one you can write code for, not have interfere with your parts, and still interface correctly with just the accessory port, while still making money if you only sell 100-300 units a year max. Then you have to QC those parts, make potential changes, the list goes on…
Not a very feasible project for something there are hundreds of on the market.
