Last Supper in 3D

This was my first attempt at 3D carving. I made it out of Jatoba.

How did that cut ? I have a small piece and it is VERY heavy.

It is very heavy, but it cut very well. I used a very small stepover with a 1/32 ball mill. It took over 10 hours but I wanted the best detail I could get.
I am still very new and I am sure there are many that could give better advice on cutting Jatoba.

Fantastic amount of detail, well done!

I figured it would hold a shape. The scrap piece I have was cut at a 45 deg angle. It’s actually sharp and holds the edge.

What size is the stock ?

10 hours well spent ! Nice job.

It is a litle under 17" wide, 8" h, and about .9" deep.

Awesome job! What was your bit progression down to 1/32? My last supper took a lot longer than 10 hrs.

My rough 3d cut was with a 1/4 flat and the finish with a 1/32 ball. I used a 90v for the chamfer.
