In addition to the fonts bundled with one’s OS, or with applications which include fonts such as Carbide Create, here are some sites which legitimately (more-or-less — it’s a complicated subject and we will apply U.S. law, and an interpretation of font authorship and knock-off like to that applied by Matthew Carter) make fonts available, either freely, or with a payment structure which renumerates the designer:
