Limit switch test

Hello, I’m working on the section. Where are you test the limit switches. Do I need to open the box where all the connections are in order to see the XYZ lights light up?

To test the switches you simply put a metal object next to the switch. It will turn red. Also in the Carbide Motion under settings (I think) when the sensor lights up you get a message on the screen that the sensor you are testing is working. You can take the controller box cover off but it is not necessary.

Putting the metal object in front of the sensor and it lights tells you that you have electrical connectivity.

Agreed. If both the led on the switch and the indicator in CM register correctly, there’s no reason to remove the cover.

I was using my machine tonight and verified that in CM 611 go to the settings and the Debug tab. There you can see each switch when activated. You can also see when the BitZero/BitSetter is activated.

In the earlier versions of CM I still think it is in the Settings to see when an input is activated.
