Longer USB Cable

Does anyone have a good recommendation of a longer USB cable that will connect my computer to my machine (S 5 Pro) in order to operate Carbide Motion?? I’m in need of a 15ft-20ft cable (A to B I believe) that will actually work. Any recommendations sure would be appreciated.

We specifically recommend only using a 2M (6.6 ft.) cable.

Some folks have been successful using an “Active Repeater” cable, or by interposing a powered USB hub, but neither configuration is supported.

It would be far more workable to instead locate Raspberry Pi close to the machine:

and then connect to that device and control it using VNC over Ethernet or wi-fi.

I use a 15’ USB cable from my Pi5 to SPROXXL… even though they are only 6" apart.

Need the length to run the cable around & out of sound dampening enclosure & back to Pi.

Have not had any issues with the setup.

Sorry guys, I’m not really a techie type person. I only understand a cable (short or long). At the end of the day I’d rather have (& need) my machine running much more than I need the new space. Hey, speaking of space doesn’t anyone just use MySpace•com anymore?!?! Tom is my only friend still left on there anymore & he’s been with me for 20 years now…. Talk about LOYALTY!!

Seriously though I appreciate the help y’all! :v:

this is what you need.

Limited-time deal: Amazon Basics USB-A to USB-B 2.0 Cable for Printer or External Hard Drive, Gold-Plated Connectors, 10 Foot, Black Amazon.com

I used this cable 10 ft so that it would fit my setup and it’s worked just fine with no problems. They have a 16 ft one that might work for you.

Since December I’ve run a 15’

It’s gafer taped to my concrete floor and I’ve never had a disconnect.

You will find many people can have issues. What environmentally needs to happen to make your place an issue I really don’t think I’ve ever seen sussed out. So either you’ll be lucky and you can run it, or you’ll be unlucky and trying to find all the ways to stop ferrite needing gremlins from booping your connection. May the force be with you.
