Love the smell of MDF in the Morning

I surfaced my SO3 XXL this morning. I had replaced my spoilboard 07/31/2025 and had a few scars. It was not too many but recently I cut a cross and that went through in the cutout mode. So I used my Whiteside 1" fly bit. The process went well.

I had recently upgraded to CM 667 and that wrote over my shapeoko.json file. So when I started the surfacing file I got a warning.

I jogged over and the Z would stop several inches from the side rail. Finally I snapped to the shapeoko.json file was over written by the new install. I quit CM and modified the shapeoko.json file and increased X to -870. Started CM and jogged over and I was now slightly over the edge of my spoilboard but still a ways from the rail.

Alls well that ends well.

New spoil board smell is almost as good as new car smell.

One of the nice things about putting a HDZ on a SO3 is gaining that little extra travel on the left side of X. I keep a backup of my .json file in my CarbideMotion6 folder because of the edit.

Thanks for the reminder, I need to do mine this weekend. Was a pretty humid summer and my slats are all uneven.
