Machine Not Responding

What does it mean when the machine keeps spinning but gets stuck in 1 spot and Carbide Motion has an error that says “Machine is not responding”?

I have to literally cut the power to the machine then start over from the beginning. It’s frustrating because sometimes it happens 2 hours into a cut.

Loss of connection, usually due to EMI.

Is it the same part of the cut each time (after loading new stock)? Or the machine getting to a particular position and then losing the connection (maybe a wiring fault?).

Note that the new version of Carbide Motion has a feature to continue a cut:

Build 642
New First pass at program restart.

What is EMI? No, its not the same position every time. I’ll download the new Carbide Motion, thanks.

EMI == electro-magnetic interference, which usually isn’t a problem on a Nomad.

Saw your ticket on support, and we should be able to work through that with you there once the folks on the other side of the country wake up and get to the office.
