what would cause my Shapeko 3 to just stop while running a program. I reloaded the file and it stopped again at a different place In the code. A third try resulted in a stop at yet another place.
Loose USB connection ? Loose wire killed me a few times.
Some Possibilities :
- Bad USB cable
- Bad USB port
- Static electricity
Check that the USB cable feels firmly connected and seated at both ends. If not, then try moving to a different port, or use a different cable.
Then try a series of ‘air jobs’. Set-up a program that you know has had problems, then run it with no stock, spindle off, dust collection off. You want to go through the motions without cutting or hitting anything.
Then do the same with the dust-collection on, then both spindle and collection on. See how reliable each scenario is.
Report back and we’ll chase this one with you.
Thank you Michael and Jim. I switched to a different hdmi port and problem solved.
All possibilities as @mhotchin plus if you have a Makita/C3D router the brushes are getting short and causing electrical noise. The Makita/C3D router brushes are quite long but t he wire that connects the brush to the brass base is quite short. So when the brush gets about half used up the wire is fully extended and the brush spring cannot make the brush have good contact and it starts making noise that causes disconnects.
It is possible for static but if this is new I would check your brushes before too much tail chasing. Static is always a possibility but unless something in your environment has changed I discount static. Check those brushes for Makita/C3D router. Spindles are not effected by this.
